Quit Joshing

My favorite commonly-used expression: to hang noodles on [someone’s] ears (вешать лапшу на уши). It means to lie to someone or prevaricate, and should be said to or of friends who you suspect are yanking your chain, joshing you, taking the piss, taking the mickey, blowing smoke (in your eyes, up your…), having you on, pushing your buttons, etc. (can you think of any more similar phrases?)

Now you know what to say to those master noodle-hangers! Thank you Shannon for teaching me this one.

Another acceptable usage, apparently, is to mean “to talk one’s head off”. This is the idiom that just keeps giving and giving!
